What line are you on?

Are you an above-the-line or below-the-line thinker? Determining this can help you take huge strides in improving your business! You must recognize that your thoughts, both positive and negative, overflow from your personal life to your professional and business life.

When you are thinking below-the-line, all your thoughts begin to have reasons and justifications as to why you are not getting results.

Sometimes we go through a routine and get stuck in a rut where we become the victim, and sometimes, not only become a victim but embrace it. Blaming others becomes as easy and thoughtless as taking a breath. We might begin to make excuses for lack of results or deny what we are supposed to do. When you are consumed with below-the-line thinking you are playing the role of the victim. When you are in victim mode it’s as if you are lying in bed and life is passing you by. Things that you should have been able to accomplish years ago have not been finished and sometimes the first step was never even taken.

Below-the-line thinking will not only cause a decrease in productivity and frustration, it can cause depression, stress, and anger-all of which can damage your health as well.

Do you see areas in the lower quality of thinking that you find your mind wandering to or your demeanor and character reflecting?

Above-the-line thinking is where we all need to strive to be if we are going to be successful in life and in business. This type of thinking is when you step up and take ownership, accountability and responsibility for your thoughts, words, and habitual behaviors. Then you begin to see actions and positive results. If you grab hold of the oar and row like crazy you are going to be successful. But you have to get outta that bed first!

You need to monitor your thinking everyday.

Getting out of the rut of negative thinking may take some constant reminders for awhile, but the reward of positive thinking and the energy and motivation you will have for life will amaze you. What are you thinking about? Are you thinking of behaviors and results that are positive or negative? Are you thinking above the line or below the line?

Take a minute to look at the diagram. It’s not a coincidence that it starts with grateful. I want to encourage you to wake up every morning and begin thinking of all the things you are grateful for and take a minute to write down three that come to mind. Beginning the morning with positive thinking can drastically change the course of your day. Call 785.408.5927 to qualify for a complimentary coaching session.
